How it is worked out

Import duty is charged on the CIF value (goods plus freight); NHIL, GETFund and the COVID levy on the dutiable value; VAT on that total; ECOWAS, AU and EXIM levies on CIF; then clearing. The duty rate, freight and clearing figures are per kind of goods and are re-tuned by Verteq’s admins as they move. It is an estimate — good enough to know whether to import at all, or to buy on a shelf in Accra.
